A story for every crew that has to go through one beaver. In it, Front Door 24 is the single point of contact for a job that cannot shout its way to yes — captions, large type, translation, and a Chief who can finally hear the whole dam.
A story, not a spec sheet
What the app does today
The beavers, the dam and some of what the door does in this film are imagined. Here is where Front Door 24 actually stands.
Translating today
- Your customer can translate your desk’s page with their browser’s own Translate option, in Safari or Chrome.
- When a question arrives in another language, copy it into a translation app, such as Apple’s Translate, and read it there.
- Write your answer, translate it the same way, and paste the translation in before you send it.
Not in the app yet
Translation inside the app is planned; it isn’t built or tested yet. The app doesn’t speak answers aloud on its own, and it has no live captions or voice-to-text of its own. In the film, those are part of the story.
The beavers and their world, in the pictures and the film, are AI-generated.
The problem
Building the dam is easy. Getting six beavers through one Chief is the work.
Some cannot hear over the river. Some cannot see the plans. Some speak another language. All of them have to reach the beaver in charge — and until Front Door 24, they all reached him at once.
In the story

Architect, supplier, builder, contractor, inspector — they all knock on the same door. The Chief answers once.
Live captions
Ira reads what the river drowns. Voice-to-text on every inspection note, in the thread, not in the noise.
Large type & voice
Ada hears the plans she cannot see. Blueprints arrive spoken, and set in type she can actually read.
Live translation
Mateo writes in Spanish. The Chief reads it in English. Cedar still shows up at dawn.
